FAQ
What is this novel anyway?
This is a tie-in novel for the first The Caligula Effect game (originally released June 23, 2016) centered around the character Marie Mizuguchi.
Is it necessary to play the game to understand the novel? Which games?
The novel was released shortly after the original PlayStation Vita release of the original The Caligula Effect in 2016 and works off of its story, so you should ideally play it or the Overdose remake.
Why isn’t (thing from Overdose) in this novel?
This novel was released on October 2016, only four months after the release of the original The Caligula Effect for Vita. Overdose wasn’t released until 2018, so elements that were specifically added for Overdose, such as the female protagonist, Lucid and the Musician Route, Ayana, Eiji, Stork, and Kuchinashi, are not involved in this novel.
Content warnings: abuse (physical and emotional), gore and body horror, depiction of fatphobia, discussions of suicide
