Digimon Adventure LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna — Translations for text on screen

There were a number of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it frames in Digimon Adventure LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna with pertinent plot-relevant information, so I’ve taken the liberty of translating some of the more important or lore-heavy frames here.

Please note that there are spoilers for the movie below.

Digimon Adventure Character Complete File — Character introductions

A translation of the character introduction portions of the Digimon Adventure Character Complete File (デジモンアドベンチャー キャラクター完全ファイル). Uniquely, each “introduction” is written in-character by the respective character’s partner.

Note that the sections for the Adventure kids are meant to be read as being from the perspective of their Adventure-era selves in 1999, whereas the Adventure 02 ones are naturally written from their perspective in 2002. Hikari and Takeru are given a “mini-section” in the middle of the book, at the beginning of which their Adventure selves comment on each other, and they are afterwards given proper Adventure 02-era sections with their own Digimon partners.

Digimon Adventure Character Complete File — Middle School Report / A Day in the Life

A translation of the “Middle School Report” and the “A Day in the Life” portions of the Digimon Adventure Character Complete File (デジモンアドベンチャー キャラクター完全ファイル).

The “Middle School Report” sections are written in-character by each Adventure kid’s Digimon, detailing their thoughts and observations about their human partners having grown up and attending middle school during the time of Digimon Adventure 02. For the six Adventure 02 main cast members, since this obviously wouldn’t apply, this section is replaced with an outline of each Digimon partner’s “daily schedule”.

Digimon Adventure Character Complete File — Personal Life Info

A translation of the “Personal Life Info” portions of the Digimon Adventure Character Complete File (デジモンアドベンチャー キャラクター完全ファイル), detailing information about the Digimon Adventure and Adventure 02 kids’ home lives, all written in-character.

Note that the sections for the Adventure kids are meant to be read as being from the perspective of their Adventure-era selves in 1999, whereas the Adventure 02 ones are naturally written from their perspective in 2002. (For these particular portions, Hikari and Takeru are classified as Adventure 02 kids.)
